I got neck issues and been looking for a lighter helmet. I've been running the HD lid I got when I picked up my bike in 06. Surprisingly it only weighed 32 oz. I can tell by feel if a helmet is lighter or heavier than mine, just cant tell by how much. Found a candidate at a local shop and ordered one. My new Fulmer carbon fiber, AF-81 medium just came in and I am very happy with it. Weighs in at 24.4 oz, it feels like nothing on your head. I don't know if this is the lightest DOT helmet available, but it is quite impressive. If you need a light helmet this is a good one, and not too bad in the "shroom head" look department either. I gave $89 +tax, not available for internet order, gotta find a Fulmer dealer.
Cool. Yours looks extremely close (identical) to my HCI carbon fiber helmet. I'll have to weight mine and see what it comes up with. Same deal with mine, I can't tell it's on most of the time.
However, I DO remember to take it off when going inside. Nothing screams 'newbie' than wearing your helmet inside, especially at a dealer.

Buddy of mine has that helmet and loves it. Seems a little pricey to me, but he likes it, his money. It does give you more of the Great Gazoo look though.
I went from wearing a very heavy Shoei half helmet to an HCI. HCI is really light and comfortable. It was like a night and day difference. Shoei offers great protection but comes with a weight penalty.
The buckets for my 2x head seem to weigh in at tonnage, I have looked at the carbon fiber units but don't care for the 'Look', to me they look too much like the helmet/hats the horse riders wear.
I am still looking while wearing a Vega 1/2 helmet, bought the same as a Skid Lid for size and mushroom look.
This lightest helmet thread would be much more useful if folks would post actual measured weight values along with the make/model/size of their helmet. No combination or variation of the word "light" can express what a scale value can. It will be up to the poeple to do this, most manufacturers don't quote the weight of their helmets, because lighter equates to less protection, prompting liability concerns. I wouldn't expect everyone to go out and buy a precision scale, but if you want to know just how much your "light" helmet weighs, carry it into the post office with ya and set it on the scale. Personally I'm done looking for a light helmet, I found what I need, but others could use the info to help them make decisions.
I have the HD Hybrid also and it is significantly lighter than anything I've owned before. Expensive like all Harley stuff but performs as promised. Specs should be on the HD site (see link above).
The problem with half helmets is they sit ON your head, instead of fitting your head. That said, The helmet I go to more than anything else is a 3/4 Dianese Jet Stream Tourer that weighs 2lbs, 9 5/8 ounces. It may weigh more than other half helmets, but the weight is better distributed all around my head, and it flow more wind than any half helmet can because it's vented. Most lightweight half helmets are not vented on top, and you'll only get wind thru it when it catches wind and sails on you.
I have half helmets, I have full face helmets, this is my favorite hands down.
