my 06 had the cam & berring failure... dealer siad it was a common problem.. it was covered under warrenty... lucky mine was ideling in the shop when it lost oil pressure.. it was a nick in the cam shaft.. caused the oil plunger in the cam plate to get stuck... dealer replaced oil pump,cams,chain,tentioners,cam plate,lifters,adjustable push rods,& all new berrings,gaskets ect.. thay installed all screamin eagle stuff.... I droped in as it was all going in to see.....never had any more issues...if I had been out riding when it happened it would have distroyed the engine

if you're getting it for a good price, then go for it. they're great bikes, and don't worry too much about the brace unless you expect to ride it beyond its limitations. as far as the part number on the injector recall, your vin number can be a lot of help there.
