Default touring jackets

I'm looking to purchase a summer touring jacket. I want something non-leather, and vented enough that I'll be more likely to wear it on my Ironbutt this summer. Right now I am leaning towards either a Tourmaster Intake Air or Tourmaster Sonora.

What do you guys who wear jackets in the summer wear?

Thanks,
mikebaby

Joe rocket phoenix 4.0. I took the back plate pad out of it to make it cooler since it was removable. Has a rain liner you can wear if needed as well.

I absolutely despise TourMaster. I had a jacket of theirs and not only was it crap and falling apart within a single road trip, their customer service was a pain too.

There's LOTS of good textile jackets out there though. I have pants by Rev'itt and their quality is top knotch, even though they are made in china.

There's always Roadcrafter and Darien, from Aerostich.com. Though maybe a bit warm

I've been using my Joe Rocket gear for going on 5 years and have never had a complaint about it. I commute by bike, so it has a lot of miles under a lot of different riding conditions ranging from 110+ to down around 40. The jacket I have is a mesh/textile jacket with removable panels; so, I can wear it year round (I do switch to leather when it gets really cold though.) It is my touring gear too, and I love how versatile it is so that I can easily adapt and be comfortable in varying riding conditions. It is not waterproof, but will keep me dry for a little ways in a light rain. I prefer the zip off panels to the zip out liners for this reason.

Suggestion: Always wear a long sleeve cotton shirt as your first layer. It will do two things: first, it will soak up the moister and keep it off your gear; second, it will slow down the evaporation and help keep you cool.

Default Summer jacket

Ihave a FieldSheer Mesh, it has a rain liner I have been wearing it for going on 3 years almost daily on my commute and weekends.
Nice jacket but in the rain even with the liner you wont stay dry.
Its good from 75+

'I absolutely love' my Tourmaster Intake Air jacket. I probably wear it 90% of the time. I carry the rain liner and quilt liner in my "pizza box"(TourPak)in case it rains or gets cold. I've had it for 2 years with no sign of wear or tear. It has some armor in the elbows, shoulders and back to help defray road rash if you go down plus it has reflective piping. On the typical hot Southern California day I feel cool and protected.

So, obviously, I think you are on the right track to be considering this jacket.

IMO, if you have the cash, the best is Olympia Airglide 3. For textile jacket and pants. Check out this site if you wish.

They keep you warm, cool, dry and protected in key areas.
