I noticed my heel/toe shifter was getting sloppy and was causing vibration sounds when I first start the bike cold. Went to order replacement bushings and was told by a friend that if there is too much slopp that you can ruin the transmission lever seal and cause a trans leak which would require removing inner primary to repair. Long story short, its pretty easy to replace the bushings and now shifter slopp is totally gone. Feels like it did when it was new. Just wanted to put that out to you guys to save you aggravation and costly repairs down the road. Bushings are cheap about 5 bucks for two of them, versus tearing out primary to replace the seal.

Install a grease fitting on the shaft and there will be no need to replace the bushings in the future....
I didn't think of that. Great idea i may do in the future. Thanks. I put anti seize on the bushings when I installed them. Should be fine for a while. The original bushings had nothing on them. They were dry installed with no lube in there. No wonder they wore out in 19,000 miles.
Did the 10 k service on my 2010 SG yesterday. Took out the shifter shaft to check and lube it. I was also installed dry form Harley. I used white grease.
