Default Biketronics verses Hawg Wired

I would like to improve my ability to control my IPod while riding through the bikes radio. I see Biketronics and Hawg Wired both have controllers that allow the use of Sony radios. The Sony CDX-GT740UI radio can also have XM radio if the adaptor is purchased. Can anyone speak to the differences bewteen the 2 controllers? The HD IPod controller is too expensive and the HD XM module is not even close to being reasonable. One of these sounds like a great alternative and possibly getting a better sounding radio in the package.

I put a Sony on with USB and aux input works awesome but did my own mount and interface but Sony does not like to get wet so I used a biketronixs rain cover

I went with an Alpine and the cable for the Ipod plugs into the back of the radio and I will put the Ipod in my saddle bag. I will have a HW adaptor for a Sony deck for sale in a week or so once I get my bike back if you are interested? (Hawg Wired 5.2 speakers for sale also)

Get an Alpine. The cable for the IPOD is very inexpensive,...even for the one that carries video !! Handlebar controls with Biketronics install kit. Great results !

I have the Hawg Wired kit with a Sony and love it. I went with the HW over the Biketronics because of the cradle that the radio sits in. I did really like the mounting of the Biketronics. Downside is I do not have AVS which I do not use anyway.

I have got a Biketronics setup in my bike and wouldnt buy anything else. They are the ONLY ones with AVC.Who wants to keep fiddling with the Volume everytime you stop.I know Hawg wired has a nicer mounting setup but ,the Biketronics unit is better(AVC) and has a lifetime warranty.
