called my Stealer to see what a cam upgrade would cost me nad they suggested that i just go to the 103 kit since its only $500 more and they will already be in the motor so i said well price me the whole thing out the door, motor build, gaskets, labor, SERT, and dyno time. they cam back with $2574 and some change, does this sound like a pretty good deal for this kind of build, they said i could whoop-up on a 110 inch with no problem.
Thats the price one of my buddies got from the dealer. They are always going to be high. He bought the ext warranty and they would still honor it so it was worth it to him. It will run with a 110 off the floor but not with one with cam, pipes a/c and tune. Your looking at around 100hp maybe a bit more or less.
well i thought the same thing on the price but he said it included EVERYTHING, the pistons, cams, cylinders, gaskets, any oils needed,SERT,Labor, and dyno time. and he said it would definately take a 110 and i have to say i believe him cause the 110 stock are waaay chocked down to meet government laws so mine being opened up should make more power and torque, and this guy is one hell of a motor guru.
Get rid of the gear drive. 07 and newer have hydraulic cam tentioners that work just as well and are quieter. That should knock off over $200! Ride safe.
My dealer quoted 3305 and I already have a tuner, heavy breather and thunderheader. Ive seen dyno sheets on the 103 vs. 110 and the 103 wins. Wish my dealer wasn't so damn high.
i have both a built 103 and a built 110, the 110 will kick the 103 all day long. that being said, if you are just looking for a little more torque, why not just do a cam upgrade, 255's, gaskets, cam bearings and adjustable pushrods will set you back less than $500 and you can get a power commander from fuel moto a sponsor here on the site. There have been some great cam swap write ups and it is not difficult to do, even a caveman can do it. On a stock 96 this will not get you over 100 ft lbs, but it will get you real close. Use woods cams and you can get even closer. Call Jamie at Fuel Moto before you go to the stealer. You might be surprised how cheap the project can get. also, Fuel Moto has a 107 kit that really kicks butt and will make the 110's stand up and notice. just my 2 cents

ya i already have a V&H Fuel Pak and V&H Big Radius 2-into-2 pipes and AC kit so i dont think its too high.
