If you were to go with a klockwerks.what modle and highth?
I have not upgraded yet and am looking at the klockwerks.
5'8 mustang seat street glide with vibrating eyeballs.
Just got my lowers on but still need a little more help.
I put the Klock Werks 8.5" Flare Dark Smoke Windshield on my 2008 FLHX and am totally happy with how it lifts the wind up and over me. I'm 6' using a stock seat.
the issue I have with that shield is that you cant use the 3 bag pouches with it and it doesn't get the wind any higher over your head than a stock shield....... and it costs an arm and a leg.
I guess I am biased because I make shields, but in my opinion Harley was trying to make something that looked cool but im not convinced about its functionality.
I own one and I think it is OK for what it is.
I don't think it costs "an arm and a leg" it's a good product and has that little HD logo on it that is very cool.If you look at the competition -Klokwerks- you won't find them any cheaper.I just bought the HD headlamps set up(3) and I chose them over TL even though they were much more expensive but I'm convinced I got a better quality item designed for my bike.
I don't understand what you mean? That it doesn't push the wind up any higher than a stock shield. My stock Street glide shield is a straight 4 inch. This is 7" with a recurve at the top. No disrespect intended here, just a question? I haven't purchased a new shield yet but its definately my very next investment. I like the wind or I wouldn't be riding a motorcycle. I just don't like not being able to wear my glasses without having to have a band to hold them on my face, nor do I like the wind directed right up my nostrils.
I should have been more clear, yes a 7 inch will do more than a 4 inch shield, but when comparing apples to apples a 7 inch wind splitter doesn't really do anything to different from a 7 inch regular shield.
I love the looks of the windsplitter but wanted the windshield pouches, glad it works for you. I went with Freedom Shields 8" recurve. At 5'11" and stock seat on an 11 Sg
its perfect and looks good. I think more people should give them a second look, priced right and good service.
I am 5"6 and have the winsplitter. I have a saddlemen pro tour slammed seat. I find the shield better than stock but it needs to be about an inch taller. I still get a bit of buffeting but if I duck my head about an inch it's great.
. How much lower is that seat than the HD reduced reach seat?
