Here in Eastern Canada, the spring has been awful. It's been colder than normal and quite wet, so I haven't been out to ride much. Was looking forward to nicer weather, going to Laconia in June, etc. On April 28th, my Dr dropped a bomb on me and diagnosed me with Hodgkins Lymphoma. I currently feel perfect, but on Monday, I'll be having my first of 6 mos of Chemo treatments. On the good side, we caught this relatively early, nothing has spread to organs or anything, and it is 98% curable, so no big worries for the long term. Everyone reacts a bit different to the treatment, but I've heard of lots of people who still feel decent, and I'm hoping to still get some rides in! Oh well, look at all the money I'll save on tires and gas!
Keep your chin up IslandGlide. As you go through this therapy and begin to see the long term improvements, the rides will be sweeter. One good thing about riding is that it lets a person think clearer and provides hours of enjoyment. I'm sure during your treatment you will take some short rides to help clear your mind. God bless.
Sorry to hear but dude I can tell you that cancer treatments now are AWESOME!!! My partner of 16 years was diagnosed with bladder cancer about 4-6 years ago they removed bladder and prostrate and everything seemed fine well last year he was diagnosed with STAGE IV metastacized bladder cancer that spread to his bones, lymph nodes and lungs... they put him in a drug trial... now after 6 treatments of the new chemo and trial drug he is in full remission with most of his tumors gone and 2 that are going... KEEP THAT CHIN UP!!! Medicine has allowed us to enjoy life together a 3rd time for many more years to come...
