Love the '07 EG Classic. Got two small issues for the dealer to fix this winter - Push button for the passing lamps pushed into the dash instead of rocking so the switch needs to be pushed back out and anchored and the radio comes on by itself about 30% of the time when the ignition switch is turned on.
This is my first fuel injected Harley - yeah, I'm a fossil. No more turning on the gas and going through the choke ritual. Just wait for the amber beer keg dashlight to go out and fire it up. VERY NICE!!!
Not to [sm=deadhorse.gif], the tranny raps a bit in fith and sixth when not under load, but the drive train is so much torquier and smoother than the old EVO. NO comparison.
I only had to retrace my tracks once to find a saddle bag lid that flew off when I hadn't latched it but was always paranoid about losing 'em. The new always attached lids are a nice touch. I haven't hurt myself or scratched them yet as I learn the ins and outs of the new latch/hinge system.
I love my '07 Ultra...I had a PCIII USB, Big Sucker, and slip-ons waiting for it when it was delivered and I haven't had a single problem with it yet. Smooth power, loads of torque down low, the only problem is my Heritage Softail is developing abandonment issues.
07 Ultra Classic, bought in Sept. I've been working out of town for the last month and a half so I'm just now ready for the 1000 mile service. This is my 6th Harley starting with an '88 Super Glide and traded an 03 RoadGlide for the Ultra. Bike is good but is taking some time to adjust to because of the reasons I've seen in other posts. Don't like the engine and trans. noise. Seems like the bike needs to be kept at a higher rpm level than I'm used to. Plan to have pipes and stage 1 done at 1000 mile service. From looking at other posts it sounds like this might help. Have a couple of other small issues to have fixed at 1000 mi. service ( left turn signal works when it wants to and one of the gauge lights doesn't work).
Not all negitive, Ultra Classic was my dream bike and I worked toward it for a long time. Looking forward to many miles of riding.
My 07 Road Glide is SWEET! Got it at the end of August and took a 1800 mile trip after the 1000 break-in. Had a 2000 Softail Standard (that I loved --26,000 miles) and would trade it in again in a heartbeat. Definitely has more power than the "88" and runs smooth as silk. The six speed is awesome! The engine does give off alot more heat than my softail but I expected that.
Put it away for the winter (gotta move south!!!) with 3500 mile on it. Going to put SE slip-ons for a little more sound and add SE AC to let it breathe which requires a download to the ECM.
