I was hearing a strange "low pitched squeal" coming from the front of the primary on my 08 FLHX at low idle. I thought right away, compensator going bad! Made an appointment at the dealer for them to check it out. Got the phone call from the service manager today, here is what he said, Well, it looks like the front motor mount is shot, the compensator is on its way out, the starter is also on its last leg, also the clutch doesnt look good either, mabey a bearing or something were going to change that too, he went on with a few more odds and ends. Should be ready to go by Friday, total cost to me, $56.00 ! I am extending the service contract on Friday when I go to pick it up! I cant imagine the retail cost on that one!
I never got the extended service, never had a problem.' 07 52,000 miles. I pocketed the $1500 or whatever it is. You possibly got a lemon. I put 14,000 on mine first year and took my chances when I saw it was no problem
Not trying to make a big deal here, but all these things do not add up to squeel?? what was that diagnosis? thanks ryd,, i understand this is an extended warr, issue, and your glad to have it, but would he say these things if your paying out of pocket so to speak.. i mean you paid for it $1200 bucks or so, just curious.

I was wondering about that myself, would all this be replaced if it wasnt a warranty job? What about the "squeal", will it be gone? Your right it does not add up, I guess I will find out when I pick it up. Yeah, the ESP did cost in the beginning, but its cheap insurance considering the price of parts and labour.
