Default Listen to CB through fairing speakers?

Is it possible to listen only to CB chatter through the stereo speakers without having to hook up an intercom? We were on a ride north yesterday and the whole highway was shut down, and I thought it'd be nice to be able to listen to the chatter on the CB to learn more - but it looks like it's impossible without plugging in an intercom.

Anybody got a workaround?

I've wondered the same thing, I've never hooked up the intercom since I primarily ride solo and hence never used the CB

I'm not sure about your bike but on mine if I set the speaker rocker switch all the way towards the rear to where the light in the switch comes on, both the radio and the CB comes out the speakers.

Your CB should work without the headset, you just can't talk. Did you have the CB on?

Turn on your radio, and make sure the CB is also on, with the rocker all the way down (light on), and then turn the squelch down, and see if the CB doesn't override the stereo.

I have on occasion forgot to turn off my CB and the next time I rode I would get a trucker on it, to remind me I hadn't turned it off, so I know on mine it works without a headset.

Yes you can, and you can get a hand held mike to talk.

Try to setup the CB according to the owners manual turn on all the speakers, on the cap switch light lit and you will hear but can't talk without head set. Make sure to adjust CB volume which is different then your audio volume control. Most of truck drivers listen to channel 17 or 19 and most of the MC channel 1 but it could be different depending on geographical locations. If you just want to hear other people then your group it will be hard to find the right channel since there is so many channels.

Thanks for the info about the MC channel. I was on a charity ride this weekend with about 100 bikes and I had it on 19 but didn't hear anything. I have to believe some guys were BSing.....
