Default engine trouble code

My check engine light came on and I ran the code. Says it's a clutch switch input short to ground.
I recently changed the grips so I'm thinking I pinched a wire when I put it back together. Could it be as simple as backing off on the bar clamp and pulling the wires out to ensure they are clear? Or is this an indicator of something more indepth, (costly)?

I would just do as you are suggesting first. check for pinched wire under clutch perch and see if you can clear it or if it cut the wire clean in half. Not sure on cost to replace.

Along with checking what's posted above, the housing may not be lined up properly allowing the lever to completely make contact with the switch.
