Hey Guys, what's the lowest riding seat for a 07 RG? I feel like I'm riding ON the bike and not part of it. I'm not worried about reaching the handlebars. I can add new ones. And I want more than a piece of sheet metal but comfort is 2nd to height in requirements. Any suggestions?
Didn't check but wondering if they make a " Reach Seat " for a Road Glide was a great seat for me on my 08 EGS couldn't quite flatfoot it with the OEM Seat.. Although did send the OEM seat to Mean City Cycles and He lowered it a good inch with the same if not better comfort .. Like having 2 Seats for a Bike anyway ..
I've tried 4 seats so far. The stock seat and a Corbin Young Guns are the winners so far. Everything else has moved me up and forward. I had a mustang sport touring and a corbin dual touring. Both got sold.
Lowest for the rider so far has been the stock seat, followed closely by Harley's "Comfort Stitch" touring seat. The stock seat is fine for the rider, but is terrible for the pillion on long rides. Mean City can lower the stock seat for the rider & leave the comfort, but there's just not enough pan to make the seat comfortable for the pillion.
The "Comfort Stitch" is reasonably low (& could probably be lowered) for the rider, but needs denser foam & the removal of the "wings" in the rider seat. It's great for the pillion.
Everything else I've ever tried moves the rider up & forward..........
Harley does make a Reach seat for the 07 RG. I have not tried one. I read in another post that a "Barebones" was a low seat but I haven't checked to see who makes it. I am a two seat kind of guy. I used to ride a 97 RK with a Mustang seat and loved it. The riding position was low and back from the bars. I added a set of Flander's pull back bars for the added reach. That's what I would like to do on this bike.
