Exactly...

...A common assumption is that if the pressure is low, the pump must be bad. This is not the case. The pump doesn't pump pressure. The pump delivers a rate of flow. The single function of the pump is to take fluid from one place and put it somewhere else. Pressure is the result of resistance to flow...

Can you explain how more pressure = less volume? Not sure I understand.

As long as you are above 30 psi at 3000, life is good.

My bike when hot shows over 30 psi while riding but only about 5 psi at idle

07 streetglide and with that stock gauge if it's accurate, mine runs at 35-45 under load, idles at around 5/10

The pressure relief spring only raises the high pressure cutoff, if the pump is up to the task, it does 0 for idle. A spring cant make pressure, it's there to stop over pressure. These motors are open bearing, ball, needle and roller. Unlike in the automotive world.
