I'd find some square tube and make some rails to raise it. Would be strong and cheap!

Being a machinist,I know that plastics are very expensive.
You could look for Polypro. plastic cutting boards at retail stores then cut them or laminate them to the required thickness. This will be a lot cheaper than buying from a plastic dist.
You can also paint them if needed.

Within the past two weeks, someone posted pics of a metal bracket sold by a vendor for mounting tour paks on police bikes to provide the necessary clearance. I didn't save the thread, so you'll need to use the search function to find it or simply scroll back and look.

Before I changed out to civilian bags, I used hard rubber automotive bushings sandwiched between a stainless steel washer on top and bottom to provide the necessary clearance with an Ultra tour pak mounted on HD's detachable two-up tour pak rack.

There's a local dept's FLHTP with radio box in the service dept. at my local dealer and I noticed it used tube shaped spacers to provide the clearance for the radio box. I'll stop by later today, and if it's still there, get a measurement.

Go back to your local plastics fabricator and get two sheets of 3/4" black HDPE (popular name is Sanatec) and lag them together with 1 1/4" counter sunk screws. HDPE will never hold paint so don't expect to be able to paint it. You could paint the screw heads to hide them. The material can be smoothed qnd beveled on the edges by scraping with the edge of a razor blade.

I'm not sure on your set up, but on my 06 RK Police, I had a machine shop make me some C channell out of thin sheet steel and then had that powdercoated. Was very cheap at $20 for 2 pieces plus $15 for the powdercoating.I went 3.25" high.I could have went 2.25" but that's ok, it don't look too bad.I'll try and get some pics up next week when I have some time.

Pingman I have searched and can not find the thread you're talking about.

Thanks for the ideas for all. I'm welcome to more. I have looked at extruded plastic but for the money...I may just go with the kuryakin adjustable set up if I can be certain if gives enough clearance on the 2009 & up bikes...mine is a 2011.

Default Tour Pac spacers

Here's some pics of the C chanell that I had made and then powdercoated.Like I stated previously, they could have been 1" shorter but they work just fine.
