You can't see it here but I already added the Mustang pillion seat for my GF. Big and comfy, it does look a bit funky, but it's got to get her to Sturgis and back. Is there a way to add a backrest to the existing luggage rack or do I need to start thinking of the detachable stuff from HD?
Detachable stuff. Got a 2011 FLHTP. Before you go to the heat and traffic make sure the dealer sets up the EITMS. The heat on these things is terrible... it helps a little. Its free from the dealer to enact it and then you can turn it on and off from the throttle.
Congats!!!! I was shopping for an Electra Glide Police bike when i bought mine. I rode one and they seem to have a bit more comfort and power to me, maybe it's just the seat IDK. I was looking used, and all I found was beat up junk. If I could have found a Nice one I would be in there with you.
I've got an '08 FLHTP. I strongly urge you to put a set of Xied's on. Cheap, easy and effective. They will help a lot with keeping the engine cooler, and prolong the engines's life. Go to nightrider.com and tuneyourharley.com for info.
I've also bought, but haven't installed yet, a set of Rush true duals. I chose Rush because their headers are coated inside and out with ceramic. This keeps the heat from radiating back onto the engine and me, and sends it out the back where it belongs.
Managing the heat is the first order of business with these late model Twin Cams in my opinion,
