My new to me 06 Ultra has one of those digital dipsticks for the engine oil that lights up when you push the button. Sometimes when I press it I get an error message and sometimes it reads the oil temp and the level. Where can I find some operating instructions for it. I asked the salesman about it a delivery time(yesterday). He didn't know beans about it. Thanks
Why dont you ask your dealer to open a new one and make you a copy of the instructions. I have a 2007 but they changed them so mine are differant than yours.
The oil has to settle after the engine is turned off (it's foamy) - give the dipstick about 2-3 minutes before you push the button (bike on sidestand, of course) and it should read fine. Btw, the oil engines loves a half full level - any more and you might blow it out the air cleaner.
Engine Oil Gauge Display one costs 130. The 99 dollar one is only the Temp Gauge version. I think it is nice to just push the button and see your oil levels instead of doing it manually which is more messy that way.
I have the wally cycle world oil temp for $89. It's also a gauge that doesn't fog. Mine is mounted in the dash where the air temp gauge was. Right where I can see if I am running hot in traffic.
Thats a good idea. I am going to do that when I go back to get some safety chrome and to complain about the thing having too much oil in it any way. Thanks
