I wanted to replace my passing lamps with a higher wattage lamp. I currently have Wagner 4449 sealed beam 30watt lamps. Does anyone know of a direct replacement higher watt sealed beam bulb?
You can take the rubber off the back carefully and put in a 55W h3 for more wattage. I did this on my lamps. I got the bulbs at the auto parts store for $2.99 each.
NAPA auto parts might offer something for you in sealed beams- I know some guys like the amber passing lights for fog and rain.
The H-D halogen upgrade kit converts to H3 capsule style bulbs- the bulbs with the kit are 35 watts- other bulbs are available at autoparts stores- i used 55 watt bulbs, which gave plenty of light- however i did upgrade my wiring.
many models have the lights powered through the ignition switch, too much current draw through this switch will burn out the contacts---- meaning the bike won't run- just something to be aware of before adding a lot of accessories.
A relay kit ( such as sold for off road lighting kits for 4 X 4's) is easily installed and removes the current load from the ignition.
at one point ( on my evo) I was running 2 X 55 w spots and 90/115 headlight.
the much improved optics on my 09, I have more light where I need it with the stock set up ( so far)

The Wagner is a real sealed beam. It's not the HD "sealed " beam that really isn't a sealed beam.If you buy the HD #68208-98A "sealed" beam, you can carefully remove the boot and replace the H-3 bulb with any H-3 bulb you like. Then reseal the boot with RTV. I put the PIAA bulbs in mine.
