Neutral light come on while riding?

Neutral light come on while riding?
On My way up to Laconia on Friday the neutral light would come on and the six gear light would go out. Was this just caused from riding in the rain? Or should I be worried about a bigger problem. It didn't happen on the way home today or the few times I got caught in the rain the rest of the weekend.

Start by checking the wire connections to the neutral safety switch. You can pull it out with a 7/8" wrench and clean it see if something is stuck in it or something. It is right there by the transmission fill hole by the starter has two wires that go to it. In the manual it will tell you how to test the unit with standard multi test unit.
