Brake Light/Running Light/Turn Signal Conversion Kit
Has anyone installed one of these conversion kits with the detachable tourpak? I am thinking of doing this and want to know before hand if there are any gotcha's I should know about or is it pretty straightforward?
I see the wiring that comes with the kit on the web site and wonder if there are any special tips regarding the pre-existing wiring connectors that would make the job easier or harder?
The only wiring connection outside the tour pak goes to a Y-splitter harness supplied with the kit that is installed under the seat. When the tour pak goes on the bike or is removed, it's necessary to remove the Corbin Classic Solo seat I use in order to connect/disconnect the harness from the tour pak to this Y-splitter.
As for tips on the installation of the kit, I don't have any; just followed the directions supplied with the kit.
If you find it awkward to connect/disconnect the harness from the Y-splitter harness, you can always add quick disconnect male/female connectors using the same parts HD uses for the kit, or use more weather-proof connectors from Deutsch.
