Volt meter is going from 10 to 13

Volt meter is going from 10 to 13
The engine light and the battery light came on when it dropped to 10 volts, Have you had this happen to you ? It went back up after a few minutes then it did it again..

Had this happen to me a couple of months ago. Changed out the regulator and it's back to normal. Could also be the stator or a bad battery though so make sure you check out the whole charging system if ya can.

Ive had a tender on the battery most of winter, also put a oil cooler on the bike in the summer time. I was told today it may be over heating the regulator since it is right in frony of it blocking the wind...

chedk the wires where they plug into the regulator on the bottom of the regulator.
Had mine work loose it was still pluged in but not tight the voltage would drop off
then come back to 14. Thats what is was

In my old evo service manual there was a series of steps to test the charging system to isolate the problem and tell you what part was bad. I have not checked in my twin cam manual for these steps but Im sure they are probably in there but as another poster already said, check the simple stuff like connections first.

Mine kept jumping around, too. I have 2005 Road Glide. Thanks to coolerman69 suggestion, I cleaned the cable leads with fine sandpaper and now works like a charm and bike starts up quicker, too. Thanks for the great advice
