I rolled the dice with a $200 pair of CFR knockoffs! A couple of months ago I ordered a set and they looked good when I got them. Shiny and brand new. Installed them on my bike in the signature and they sound great! Like no other and everyone around seems to think they sound great. I do a lot of riding when I can, but cruising and not racing or anything.
The past week I noticed an unusual noise coming from the left side exhaust during accelerating, decelerating and at idle when stopped at a light. Sounded as if air was leaking in the pipes. I checked all my connections on the head pipe and the muffler. After a couple rides, I took the left muffler off and checked it over (mainly on the inside). No issues, so I moved it to the right side and the right muffler to the left. Sure enough, the noise followed. Thought maybe the baffle is coming undone. Last night when I was switching out my rear turn signal bar, I noticed on the bottom of the muffler where the end cap meets, it is starting to bow and separate. I can see a small arched crack apperaing. Fired up the bike and held my finger over the crack and the noise went away. POS (KMart) pipes! You get what you pay for!
Quality is like oats, if you want nice fresh oats, you must pay a fair price, if however, you can be satisfied with oats that have been through the horse once, those come a little cheaper....Sorry you had to find out the hard way

Yes, just like beer and whiskey....quality over quantity. I had the 4" Rineharts for a few months and sold them to my buddy. Top knotch quality and great performance. I really liked the sound of the CFRs and no one around here has them (only reason I switched and used the extra cash for another upgrade). Spent $525 on the Rineys and $200 on the CFR knock offs. Should have went with the real things!
I got nailed by several members here several months ago when I voiced my opinion about these CFR knock-offs. I have the real ones since 2009 and they're awesome, both sound and quality.
I'm sorry for your bad experience but it would have surprised me if they were as well made as the original for 1/3 of the price.
I hope you will buy the real ones one day cause, in my opinion, they're worth every penny.
Not that I want to defend knockoffs or the people who sell them, but it is possible you got a bad one. Contact the seller and let him know, maybe he'll replace them.

I tried that last week once I heard the problem start last up. The seller is KC International in Ohio. I only tried email. I wasn't harsh or anything to them, but never heard anything back. I would be willing to try a replacement, but I bet the replacement will do the same thing. I looked at the muffler now on the left that isn't doing anything and the muffler body looks like it may be starting to do the same thing. I have seen three or four different companies sell these mufflers and I bet they all come from the same manufacturer. I wonder if anyone else has this problem or will have this problem with their KOs?
Update:
Just called KC International and they told me to email a couple digital pictures of the bad spot on the muffler. Now I have a personal corporate email address. They are going to forward the pictures to the company that produces the mufflers for replacement. I will see if I can have them find out if the company is seeing other issues like this. If so, I don't even want a replacement just to have the same thing happen again.
I would say if they replace it...Give it a shot, even brand name craps out every once in a whie also...Look at all the **** that happens with cars and bikes with all OEM parts...I would give them a 2nd shot. If thye replace it.
