Okay, so here is the issue. I installed braided brake lines the other day. Obviously I had to bleed the brakes. After the install I realized that the cruise control doesn't work now. It worked once and then stopped. I was wondering if I may have somehow screwed up the brake switch, but, the brake lights work with each pull of the lever. I checked the fuse and it is fine. Any thoughts? 02 Ultra.
Didn't even unbolt the master cylinder from the bars. All I did was disconnect the brake line and install the new line. Is there anything inside the fairing that could have been disconnected that would effect only the cruise? Like I said, the brake lights work, so I assume that the switch is still working properly.
This may sound too simple....... did you maybe accidentally turn of the cruise switch on the dash?
A friend did that..... I rode 30 miles to his house to turn it back on for him. I will probably kid him for at least 10 years for that one.
I always turn the switch off. When I use the cruise I turn the switch on. As soon as I am doen I turn it off. The issue I have is that the switch will light up, but, when you engage the switch the cruise does not activate.
I like the simple approach. I am famous for ignoring the obvious and looking for the complicated porblem.

Does the cruise light come on RED in the tach? I think there is a way to do a reset... but I can't remember where I saw it.
Mine lights up green on the tach when the cruise engages. Don't forget I have an 02, so I don't think I have any type of reset. I assume that for the TBW bikes there is. The switch on the dash lights up when I turn the system on, but, when I try to engage the system it will not engage. I couldn't fing anyting in the service manual to address this type of issue.
Look very closely at the front brake lever and housing... I did the same thing and it turned out that the housing was not fitting together perfectly, thus not letting the cruise engage... I figured this out AFTER I picked up a new switch during Bike Week!
Check to make sure that you put the two halves of the housing together perfectly.
