Default h-d pageing system

I have a question about the harley davidsons paging system...i owen a 2005 electraglide classic with a standard stock security system(just ign. cut off and lights flash)....i want to install the paging system...my question is ,does the paging system come with the siren or do you have to buy that sepertly on top of the paging system......the page system is about 200.00 and the siren is i think 89.00,,install is about 130.00......................is it worth getting the page system or just get the siren to go along with factory alarm system..what do you guys think?[bike pics

Tony,

The siren is extra. I like the siren because it will scare off kids who are just messing with your bike. Of course people don't even look anymore when they hear a car/bike alarm going off. The pager will give you some peace of mind. If the range is far enough it will be good for races, rallys and stuff like that. I don't have the new harley system but I did have a really nice scorpian alarm on one of my old ultras.

I have the siren, but not the pager. They come seperately. From what I've heard, install is a very easy plug in that you can do yourself. I had my siren put on at time of purchase, so install waa free. I've also been thinking about the pager, so will be interested in what people say.
BTW, I have to reset my motiuon detector sensor. It is set way too high. I know the instructions are in the manual, I've just been too lazy to do it. Maybe next week when it's supposed to get back up in the mid to high 90's, I'll ride less and get some work done on the bike. Art

Don't have the pager but the siren is an easy install. Take off seat and side covers, unplug a fuse, plug it into provided connector, tighten a few bolts, replace covers and your good to go. About 30 minutes from start to finish. And that's from a guy with virtually no wrenching experience. Just follow directions and you'll have no problems.

I have an 05 Electra Glide Classic. I have the pager system. It's worth the $200.00. Most people don't pay attention to the sirens. The pager goes off if somebody bumps the bike. If it's a slight bump the pager givesa few alerts. If it is a major bump or the bike is moved the pager keeps going off until you go to the bike and shut it off. To me it is very good insurance.

The pager is suppose to be good up to 300 yards. However, buildings etc. will cut down on the distance. I like the pager, it is another level of security.

Doesn't the pager also have the feature of checking if you're in range to hear it go off?

I live in an apartment building, and wanted the pager and the siren. I went with the Airtronix Thunderpage, which is identical to the Harley system, but offers both the pager unit with battery backup option, and the siren as one package. I paid about the same as I would have for the pager only from HD here in Canuckville. I have no problem recieving the page from the underground parking, and I am 3 floors up in a wood construction building. There is a range confirmation signal that works for 2 hours after setting the alarm, that allows you to see if your in range.

I am not entirely sure, but I think that Airtronix might make the system that HD uses, as they are identical, right down to the pager, minus the always expensive bar and shield logo.

I have Airtronix alarms on both of my bikes, and have found thier products and services both excellent.

www.airtronix.com

Hope this helps

Scott

Pager shows status of system armed, disarmed, short alarm trigger, full alarm trigger, range confirmation, out of range and low battery
