I got a 120 out of my bike but I got some mods
but I had to stay in 5th gear till i hit the 100 mark
then shift into 6th and I was feeling pretty good till
I was reminded that my speed-o-metter lies like a
dirty dog

did 110 on a long winding country road once. was pulled over by an honorable sheriff who said he was going to give me a ticket, not for speeding, for being stupid. He said I was driving thru a turtle crossing and had I hit a turtle, I would have wiped out, and of course killed the turtle.

I have done 110mph on the garmin. 2010 road glide 96 with 204 cams,no cat, hi flow breather and different pipes. As I remember, the bike was still accelerating. Would have gone faster, but I wasn't wearing my toe tags.

Have real basic Stage 1 from FM. I broke the bike in hard. It runs pretty strong. As others have said the speedo reads higher than GPS. I have it 120 by GPS on a long straight road. The PCV has rev extend enabled. Red line every gear. It will run over 90 in 4th and over 110 in 5th. 6th doesn't pull much unless you spend quite a bit on the motor so it takes some distance to hit that mark.

Not normal. I have an 09 ultra, stage 2, se race tuner and 255 cams. Granted it was according to speedometer only, but I've cleared 120 without trouble and still pulling.

And I walked around my yard with a GPS and it showed average speed at 15 MPH. I don't think I trust them as much as most of you appear to.

Now the question/problem....
I was out riding the other day and had an urge to really open it up and see what happened. I get to about 75 in 5th, shift to 6th, climb fairly rapidly to 85 and it very slowly climbs to 89 or 90 and I can't get it to go any faster??? This leads to several trials at attempting to get it over 90 and the only time I did was when I was going down hill and then it only got up to 92. As a matter of fact, at full throttle, it actually slowed down until I let off the throttle a little.
Here's my set up. 96" stage 2 (SE 255 cam) SE tuner.
I really just want to know if this is normal. I never attempted to take it over 90 stock or just as a stage 1.[/QUOTE]

The problem is you are shifting WAY to early...Run 4th gear to about 95 hit 5th and just let it tach out...6th gear is usless...you are shifting in the middle of your power band..running these motors up to 5k rpms will not hurt them at all..twin cams are not low rpm/torque motors like the rice burners

I was passing a truck on my 10 Ultra Limited, downshifted to 5 and nailed it! Next thing I feel is my wife smacking me in the back saying SLOW down! When i looked at the speedo it showed 100mph and I didn't even realize it. Bike is completely stock except for SE slip ons.

I have had it happen that I had more power when baking a little off of WOT. In all the times that it happened to me it was because of running lean due to fuel restriction of some type. I would say check your filter first.
