Default Jagg Coolers installed 09 Ultra

Probably a common topic but here goes....

I installed 2x 3050 6-row Jagg Oil Coolers in series with a 4060 Adapter.

Got all three parts used off Ebay in perfect condition.
Cleaned them thoroughly
The vertical oil coolers did not fit well on my Ultra due to the lowers, so I fabricated a bracket. Checked clearance of front tire and fender fully compressed, it fits.
I know the position their in is not IDEAL for wind, but it should help. I can move the position of the coolers if I need to. Trying this position out for now.

Next plan is to find a small fan, place it behind the coolers at the lower part in the wider part of the triangle on the front frame between the coolers and the engine and wire it into my Lenale Parade Fan which is in my ACC switch.

Pics attached.
Comment away. Let me know if I over looked anything.
Still new to this.

I have the Jagg 10 row low mount. I'm thinking you get about the same air to your coolers as I do. Did you just loop a hose from one cooler to the other then run the hoses to the adaptor?

I think the coolers will get air fine , I'd be concerned you may block air to the heads

I did a loop from one oil cooler to the other.

I am wondering about air to the heads too, but I have seen several Harleys and choppers with oil coolers in the same spot I have mine.

Air goes through the coolers, but it would be hotter when hitting the heads.

Not sure on this one. Anyone know for ?

2nd on concern for air flow across the engine. Those fins on the jugs and heads cool the oil too and depend on fast air to do so.

Here is an example of an Oil Cooler setup I modeled slightly after.

Looking at the picture compared to my setup, placement seems close to identical. mine might take up a bit more room, but have a gap between them that allows some airflow.

That's a Softail set up Pappy...The only way to tell for real is oil temps taken before and after, with the coolers and without. You may be right!

That should give you plenty of cooling. Only way to know if it is creating an air cooling problem is by reading CHT before and after install. If you can spread them apart a little to leave a gap for fresh air to pass in between it would probably be better, maybe slightly angle them inward or outward. I'm all about cooling the oil but keep in mind it is primarliy air cooled, so air has more overall value for cooling; air to the heads will cool the heads in turn transfering less heat to the oil, but the oil coolers will not prevent the head temps from rising. 2black1s parade fan data demonstrates the significant value of air on the heads.

I think everything is fine, especially with having a seperate Lenale parade fan. At speed the front cylinder should get as much air as the rear does cause of the front cylinder. Standing still their is not that much air flow anyway except for the two fans.

I looked at it, I should have enough space to move each Oil Cooler outboard by 2 inches. That will put them between the lowers and the frame, just partially in front of the frame rails at the triangle.

The lower part of each Oil Cooler would be in front of the frame, the top part would be to the outboard of the frame. Air would go through the Oil Coolers and straight to the sides of the engine vice to to front of the engine.

Do you think this would fix any issues with Head Blockage?
Is it nessecary?
Does it pose any other issues?
