So, i just finished up my project of adding 14" Apes to my bike. For my next project.....i'm torn between cams, or a new front wheel! I was disappointed to find out that laced wheels weren't an option for my 2011 Steet Glide when i purchased it, but knew i wanted a 21" front wheel anyways! So, know i'm thinking about replacing my front wheel next for my next project. I'm not finding any laced 21" bagger wheels!!! I contacted American Wire Wheel today and got a quote to build me the wheel i want. It's going to be about $1000 by the time i have it shipped to me!!! I know that probably doesn't seem to bad compared to the price people pay for BILLET wheels....but i'm not ready to spend that kind of money on a front wheel yet. Anyone know of any better deals out there??? .....and I DON'T WANT RADIAL LACED!
Now my second question......Will an 80 spoke laced wheel hold up to the abuse of pulling wheelies on my bagger??? I'm pretty simple, and would be happy with 40 spokes, but kind of doubt a 40 spoke wheel will take the kind of abuse i'm gonna give it. Does anyone have any experience with laced wheels on a bagger that likes to do WHEELIES???
I had 80 spoked on my SG from american wire hit a shallow pothole and bent the lip--if you are going to stunt on the bike I would go with ride wright or some other kind of Fat Spoke wheel--Fat 50 or Fat 52 spoke

Here in so cal a lot of people do wheelies on their bikes. I don't remember seeing anyone do it on a spoke wheel. They all have had billet wheels.
I rode wheelies all the time on my sporty. But every once in a while...i'd miss a gear while shifting! When that would happen,...it came down pretty HARD! I just want to make sure if my bagger comes down hard, that the wheel doesn't collapse!!!
