Default Quietest cam for 103 LTD?

I have done the stage one (days ago) and am already thinking cam

What I now no is, I want a quiet cam (if there is such a thing) and I want a cam that will help my "roll on" power........say from 2600rpm to 4000rpm.

I dont wanna rev this bike to the moon to make 'er go.......I want torque!

So, can someone reccomend a quiet, torquey cam for my 103?

My current bike is a '11 Ultra Limited 103 with a Power Vision, Fuel Moto head pipe and Rinehart 4" and Jamies air cleaner set up (your basic stage one I guess).

I've really only heard of a few cams.....

1) Bob Woods (had the TW6, then the 555 in my 2010 Ultra)

2) Harley cams (255, etc)

3) Andrews

Are these "the big 3"?

I have an Andrews 26H in mine and I really like it for my riding style. Valve clatter is actually less than what my original stock cams had and even using a Cometic MLS Head Gasket I have not had to use Compression Releases which I would have had I used the SE 255. I'm probably not making 100/100 but whatever it is . . . it's close enough for me. The roll-on power is excellent in any gear and there are no flat spots or any noticeable loss of power at low RPM. Full economy dropped to 38 MPG right after I did the build but after about 2,000 miles it has returned to an average of 42 MPG.

I have an '11 RGU w/ 12,000 miles on it. TW555, woods directional lifters, FM pushrods, Jackpot Pro Touring, V&H Power Duals, FM A/C, and PCV. I have no valve train noise, if anything it is quieter then it was stock. It does tick occasionally on first start, but goes away and doesn't do it the rest of the day. I am in love with the setup. Roll on above 2500 is a kick.

Where you not happy with the 2010 and 107" setup???

255's or 254's for RPM's your talkin, run them both, good TQ.in that range search dyno sheets you will get alot of varied opinions. I'm no wrench but I think the 254's make a little more hp. than the 255's from the numbers I've seen on the forum but I could be wrong.I aint seen anything taht comes on as early as these to . Oh I have 254's now and like them. And quite also.

A buddy of mine is looking at getting a 2012 CVO which I hear has the 255 cam in it. I may get to try it in my bike and see how I like it. This may be to good to pass up.

If I would have realized my 2011 Limited came with ACR's I probably would have used the 255's again. The 254's start just a tad later but carry out a little futher mine is at 100ft.lbs. of tq. at 2600 to 2700, and drops below at about 5 or 5100.

Cycle Rama CR-575 , main reasons I put them in were they are quieter than any out there and you are over 100 ft lbs of torque at 2500 rpm's

My 254 SE cams are more quiet than stock. Anyone considering the 255 should take a look at these as well.
