I have a 2007 Road Glide I bought new in March of '07. I bought the extended warranty also. I was told it's the same as the factory warranty, it just goes out to 5 years. Now after about 4 1/2 years I have a pipe issue. The stock pipes ( I'm not into loud pipes) have rusted through and is burning my right thigh just a few inches off the seat. The dealer said it's not a warranty issue. I think it should be, we'll have some more discussion about that.I only have about 18,000 miles on it. But, since I don't have a grand or more for pipes, if it's on my dime, what do you guys who know more than I do, suggest? Thanks. Noname
did it crack or burn through , never heard of one burning or rusting through , mine was replaced about 3 weeks ago under warranty because it cracked by the welds on the rear cylinder , you could check another dealer
To be honest, I didn't inspect it so I don't know if it rusted or split or cracked or what. One pipe looks normal the other is all rusted up on the inside when you look at them from behind the bike. Then, I heard an exhaust leak and at the same time noticed my leg was getting really burned!
I called the dealer and asked the tech about it. I also have a wiring issue, the TSM I think he said. He said the TSM would be but he said " I don't know about the pipes" but more than his words it was the voice inflection he used that said not likely a warranty issue. Noname

If your problem is a direct result of a manufacturer defect then it should be covered under warranty, if not then you are SOL.
Do you have a pic of the pipe you're having an issue with? I don't believe the warranty covers chrome surfaces, ie: wheels, heat shields etc..., but I could be wrong. A pic may help people steer you in the right direction though.
