Don't over fill oil. Put 3.25 quarts in warm it up and top off until the full at hot line. Should end up with a little over 3.5 qts. So much is left in cam chest that many overfill by just putting in all 4 qts.
Any remedies for blow by on my 07 FLHTC with 41k on it ???
First you need to find out why your getting blow by. Read your plugs, do a compression test, make sure crank case is not overfull. how much oil are you using?
plugs are a nice light brown color, compression is great, I use no oil and I do my own maintenence and never overfill the crankcase. Bike has Vance and Hines fuel pak, K&N airbox and V&H slipon pipes - all properly tuned.

so what's the problem.....you are not consuming oil...why are you calling this blow by?
I had the same problem with my 08 FLHX. I tried draining a bit of oil as mentioned , it started getting worse as time went on. As it turns out, the umbrella seals were shot, replaced under warranty. Fairly big job I was told, your rocker boxes have to be removed, the seals are located under there.
small drips of oil on motor under air cleaner as well as on the seat, saddlebag ,pipes and my wife's leg. This is not blow by ???
nope...not at all....your getting oil from your case vents into your intake. The case vents are designed to return uncombusted fuel that accumilates in the engine case and routes that fuel vapor into your intake for a 2nd chance at getting it burned.
your getting oil in the line from the case vents due to an overfilled crank case. Drop the level a half a quart.
blow by is when oil gets passed the oil rings on the piston and enters the cumbustion chamber and you consume oil that normally gets sent back to the case by the oil rings on the piston.
