i am not sure what stock 103 is like, but the 255 cams are great.

+1.... Stage 1 plus SE255 cams will make idle to about 4,000 RPM come alive!

Default 96 vs 103

had a 96 and it felt more responsive down low and i assume a higher cube engine will produce a broader torque band... does the 103 have the same cmas as 96??? not wanting to replace cams, im happy with the power above 2500 rpm just soft down low..... se 255???? whats the specs on them????? lift and duration and what kind of increase in power do they provide?????

96 and 103 have the same cam. Larger displacement = slower spin-up. 255 cams do make an incredible difference.

I'd check your tune, it shouldn't be that sluggish down low, especially with a 2into1. How many miles do you have on it, they run a lot better once they're broke in well.

The larger displacement would only spin up slower if the stroke was increased, not on a larger bore.

Default 700 miles

on the clock... pretty sure its a tuning issue. if the 96 and 103 have the same cams then 103 should be a little snappier down low and lose some top end.....i feel like it should have more torque down low than it has...

Ride it for another 1K or more before you get too worried, that may be why your 96 felt better.

i came off a 2008 96 inch strret glide with a simple power commander, stage 1 and rinhart slipons , had same issues as you was dissapointed in the 103 , i just put vance and hines x pipe on on friday - no cat !! with a set of riney 4 inch slipons , it sounds way better and bottom end tourque is there , just need a re map and it should be almost perfect. I was very frustrated for about the past 6 weeks since i got it. i had to do my own homeowork and with help from the guys in here on the forumn . Dealer wasnt much help for me good luck
