Took a trip to dealer today to see what they had for 2012s.
Thought maybe the 2011s would be a deal of sorts...
Aside from a $1k gift card, there were no "deals".
Is there a better time to buy?
I got my 11 flhtcu dark root beer/ light root beer abs/sec/cruise with the 96 basically for 22400. Gave them my 05 suzi boulevard and they gave me 4k paid off a small loan with the 4k and had 600 left over to spend there. Got it the week after fathers day.

Think it depends on where you are. My buddy just bought an 11 SG in Eastern WA. He got the 103 package and paid $800 less than MSRP+options. The 12 sitting next to it did not have abs/sec and was same price...so not much of a deal...in my opinion. On the showroom floor were 2 SG, 1 RKC, 2 EGU, and 3 RGs. If he had traveled 200 miles to Portland he probably could have gotten a better deal as they have many more on the floor.
I don't think you're gonna find a universal dealing formula. It all depends on their inventory, how long they've been sitting on it, how much new inventory they'd like to get, used inventory... lots of factors.
Black Hills HD in Rapid City offered an '11 Ultra Limited for 12 and my 01 Ultra. It was black, 103, heated grips, security, loaded. After long hard thinking, i passed cause mines paid for and just about have it the way i want. Couldn't see going in debt again then having to do all that work over again so i passed on it. Price was 24995.00 before add ons.
I was looking at 2011's and had been dealing for a week or two. When I narrowed it down to 2 bikes , neither color I really liked. It came down to my bike (2007 road king) and $7500 for a 2011 blue Rkc with the 103 cruise and security, so I offered my bike and $8000 fir the pearl white 2012 Rkc and they took it. Thayer msrp for a brand brand new Rkc , I couldnt say no to that deal. Who know why?
I was at the local dealer 2 weekends ago - all they had for 2011's was a CVO SG.
Their 2012 prices were at MSRP. The buyer said that he's got so many orders, they're not making ANY deals. Oddly enough he said he wouldn't order a white RKC for me because he thought they look stupid and he wouldn't be able to sell it....even though I was standing right in front of him asking for one.
I think I'm just going to send out an email to all the dealers in the area that says "Looking for a white 2012 RKC - lowest OTD price gets my business".
