In my 11 SG the owners manual says 40-50 PSI for riding with a passenger so I put 50 in. Our combined weight is just over 400 pounds and I don't bottom out at all, the ride is actually quite smooth I think.
FLXH shocks are definitely tricky to dial-in...just got to play w/the pressure a bit. Can $pend ca$h for replacement$, but most can get them comfortable with a few try's. I've had no problems w/my 09 - just be patient & persistent.
FYI, all the riders who claim you wasted $$$ on Street Glide are jealous they didn't get one, or don't know how to maintain othe one they have...
Had exactly the same issues, adding high pressures did not stop the bottoming out and affected handling making it bounce like a Space Hopper (not quite but you get the picture).
Changed to a set of Ohlin #3 from Motorcycle Metal, Howard takes all your details and set's up to fit. The sit of the SG does not change as the shocks have been built for the bike.
Totally transforms the ride and improves the handling. Since fitting we have never hit the stops as with the stock setup.
I have the 440's. Better then stock, but in hindsight I would save more money and get better brand. Just sayin!!
Agreed..lol I paid like 650. Im sure there are better and cheaper but I went by a friends recommendation. It fixed my problem but it don't ride like no caddy....
