Ok, I am completely new to the EFI thing and really do not understand all of it yet. My question is, is there an exhaust that will give me a good thoaty harley sound without doing the stage 1 or re mapping the bike. At this point I am looking for the sound only. I will work on the performance when I get some money saved up. Any good ideas or advice will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!!!

Here is all you need to know...K&N HD-0800 filter & a PCIII. Combined with a decent exhaust system, you will see a dramatic gain in performance, great sound, and get a much more enjoyable/rideable bike in return...satisfaction guaranteed! If you just toss on a set of slip-ons, you'll be missin' out.
When I was looking at exhaust systems, my dealer indicated that if I only added slip-on mufflers that I would not need a remap. With that in mind, I chose the Vance & Hines Oval Slip-Ons. They have a deep, throaty sound that is about twice as loud as the stock '07 mufflers. I also hear good things about the Vand & Hines Basic Slip-Ons if you like that look better.
I ended up adding a Screaming Eagle air intake as well, and that required a remap. So I went with the Vance & Hines FuelPak. Others prefer different vendors, but the idea is the same.
So your investment in new mufflers will give you the sound that you are seeking and provide a platform for future enhancements as time and finances allow.
i bought a pair of Samson rolled thunder slip on's for my 06 RK Classic. got them cheap (about $200 new) but really didnt like the sound at all...... i sold them and bought a nice used pair of Python slip on's. they sound great at idle all the way up to red line.... no remapping here and it runs great.
i may be doing the fullsac true-dual conversion soon too- to get the 'true dual' sound, but for now, the Python's sound great.
I bought a pair of Supertrapp SE Slips Ons.
They are basiclly the HD Touring Mufflers, as Supertrapp makes them for HD.
Great sound and gives you a little more Torque and HP to boot... I have since added a few more things, but that was my first Mod.
Went through 4 different slip ons til I found the one that I liked
Do you know if this is true for an '07 Touring Bike (RG). My bike is in the shop right now so I can't go look - getting a Stage I A/C and a ECM download. I opted to stay with the stock pipes as they appear to be very similiar to the SE Street Legals. I saw the ECM download page at the dealer today myself and the Stage I download lists that it will work with Stock mufflers.
But the sound... Do these plugs exist on an '07 and if so can they pop in and out or is this a permanent thing?
