Default '11 Road King lowering options

I didn't just post this question without trying to find out my options. There seems like there are Ohlins and Richor plus the Progressive shocks I've read about but it doesn't look like they offer any shocks for my ride. Am I missing something that their sites don't obviously state? I want to lower the rear of my FLHR 1" please? Anybody did this without sacraficing too much comfort with one up riding?Dene

What about Progressive 940's? Read here that they can be a little harsh for 1 up?

One easy way would be to replace your shocks with Street Glide shocks, which are 1" lower.

Through similar research, I came to this conclusion:
I think the other aftermarket brands you mentioned will sell you 1" lower shocks, but it's kinda discouraged because you are paying out all this money for aftermarket, and you negate some of your performance gains by reducing the travel of the shock-that inch is precious, I guess.

I think 1" lower Ohlins would be better than Street Glide shocks if money was not an issue-but I think it's kinda like asking the waiter in a French restaurant to mix some malt liquor into your Dom Perignon-he'll do it, but he's not recommending it.

Those seem nice but they don't tell much about them...

Find some cheap (I paid about $35) lowering blocks to be sure you like the bike lowered. You will be dragging more hard parts. If you like it, buy shorter shocks at that time and resell the blocks.

I went with Bitchin Baggers. Lowered mine about 1.5", plus I sent my seat to Mean City Cylcles for re working, so gained a total of 2" (changed my handlebar position with 4.5" risers as well), which has made all the difference. The shocks have not changed the riding comfort of my RKC 103 and I just keep 20-40 lbs pressure in them, depending on whether my wife is riding with me or not.

I just installed a 2" Burly Slammer kit on my 11 RK. I like it so far. It wasn't too hard to install.

You could also have MeanCity Lower and narow your seat . I had my stock 2008 FLHRC seat LOWERD a cpl inchs and narowed a cpl inchs with some memory foam added for comfort . looks great very comfy after 600 mile break in .
way more thrifty than buying a new low seat. it cost me like $18.50 to ship USPS + insurance Alen shipped seat back FedX $15 total cost including shipping just under $150 THRIFTY
