Good question. I wonder the same thing about my fatcat. Wonder if there is any torque to gain or just deepens the exoust note?

Good question...no answer here but thinking I should repack my VH Classic Slash Cuts....~33K miles. No cone baffles, just packing material behing the mesh screen. Anything special of just regular exhaust packing?

I have the quiet baffle. Yes, there are fiberglass like material around the OEM baffle when I replaced w/ quiet one, also have similar if not the same material around the metal baffle.

As far as how many miles before replacement, may be Jamie or Keith from FuelMoto can chime in?

Ride safe.....

I think Jamie is enjoying some family time. Much needed partying time with the wife. It may be a week or so.

I seem to recall Jamie mentioning that the quality German packing material they use doesn't have to be replaced. If they're not getting louder I wouldn't worry about it. If they are getting louder, ask FM to supply you with some of their premium packing material.

I've discussed this with Jamie, and I don't recall the answer. At some point they'll have to be re-packed. The packing on my Fatcat needed to be replaced after a year & 20,000 miles.

My jackpots are in transit to Wisconsin. Began getting a decel pop a month or so ago. Kept adding fuel to 0 throttle and could not get decel out.
Pulled mufflers off bike and found a round rubber band like substance at front of muffler. Called Jamie who told me baffles don't breakdown. Further this substance I was seeing was a silicone adhesive that holds the packing to the side of the muffler.
My feeling is that if this sealant wears off. burns off, it will allow air to pass by the baffles and packing causeing this pop.
Mufflers sent to FM to repack.

And what was it like after you repacked them. I got 30,000 on my fat cat.

Jamie offers a lifetime warranty on all internal stuff. Just send them back and I'm sure he would take care of them for you.
