Default Mp3's to CD

I am attempting to burn a CD for all my road songs. After searching past post re: MP3 I have converted my WMA files to MP3 format. When I attempt to burn my CD, I get about 15 - 18 songs on my edit list and the remainder say "will not fit". Some MP3 post say you can get 10 hours worth of music on one CD.

What am I doing wrong???

Generally an original song off a cd is around 35mb, or so. When a "rip to mp3" is made correctly, the file size is around 3mb. When I've burned cd's in the past, I've burned cds with over 200 songs.

What software are you using to convert the wav to mp3? You will have the most success not using windows media player. Convert your music directly from the original cd.

I recommend trying CDeX if you are not pc savvy, or do not have access to some of the high end programs. It is a free program that works great for converting to mp3. Once converted, you would then use your normal cd burning software.

CDeX Download Site

Hope this helps.

you must burn them as data or mp3 disc depending on the software you are using.

I've never converted any wma files to mp3. I just take all mp3's, burn em' on a disk and go. If they are all mp3 format, you can get about 150 songs on a CD.

I heard www.limewire.com was a great site for filesharing/downloading but I would never do that! ;-)

I would be very cautious using limewire. It is heavily monitored by the RIAA.

There a re a lot a ways to do it. The easiest is to copy or paste them to your Itunes library. You can download itunes for free. Then go to file, backup to disk and burn. Easy as pie.

As many have said, there are countless ways of doing this. I use Nero for all my burning. I don't normally convert anything because I download all my stuff in MP3 format already. Yes, it is very possible to get 10 hours of music on one CD. I put 199 songs on a CD last night and there was still room left. It's the only way to fly. Quality suffers slightly but, hey, you can live with that when you consider the s--- that they play on the radio today. It sounds like to me that you don't have them all converted to MP3 format. By the way, USENET Newsgroups are the way to go to download music. Stay clear of that filesharing c---.

Itunes is free and easy burn as "MP3 file" and you are done. 120-180 songs and the radio will show the title playing o0n the face same as CD.

Easiest way is to "rip" your CD's to mp3 format using Windows Media Player. Then use a burning program like Nero to burn an mp3 disc. The size you rip them at has alot to do with how many you can fit. I typically rip to 128kbs and can fit around 150-200 songs on one CD.

_ Yep Dells MusicMatch will do the same.

When you go to burn it will give you the option of what format. Select as MP3 and put over 100 songs on a single CD.
I was gonna mount my XM Radio to the bike - But, with this feature I can burn a couple CD's and I'm all set.
