I'm BACK!!!!!...........
+1 on the Shark Nose growing on you. Welcome back too.... I've seen some really nice custom RG's and the more I look at them the more I think about it. Like you though I really question the wind issue. Also because I ride all year round the rain and cold are always issues. Good luch with your search.
Thats's a great looking Glide in your signature! Of course you can tell from my sig that my next bike will have Apes!
All the thoughts are kind of the way I have been leaning. I have not done quite enough research on the Glides to know what differences are in years. I really like the ones which have the same rear as Street Glide (10 and up?) Although I have considered eventually stretching the bags and fender so it wouldn't matter anyhow.
How about the wind issues I seem to read about on road glide forum? I had a 6.5 KW shield on my SG and it did OKAY, nothing special but worked for me. I hope I won't have to put on a tall shield to enjoy the Glide?

. as far as the wind... I am 5'8" and the way my bike sits i am in a perfect bubble with no wind, and that's with a stock 2011 seat. Plan on getting Mean City Cycles to work their magic which will lower me more and creating a larger cup only making the bubble larger. I did put a 10" gunsmoke windvest on it. The 8.5 Klocks looks really good but provides just a little protection (one that's in the pic). Summer is fine though. I also have a 12" Klocks that works really good but i liked the look of the Windvest. I put the wind deflectors in the fairing for 30$'s. Best money spent. I had buffeting issues prior to that. Honestly... the lowers were more for looks for me (like the fat and low look) but help in huge amounts in getting rid of the air coming up from around the bottom of the fairing. The wind thing can be handled. Pain in the **** is going through the ones you want, thus the fact that i have 4 shields
. Thanks for the compliment on my bike! Still got a few more mods scheduled for winter. First, laced rims followed by cams.
