Default Another RoadKing handlebar question

Traded in my Ultra & am now the proud owner of a 08 Roadking. Went for a 500+ mi. trip yesterday & came to the conclusion I'm definately gonna be swapping out the bars. I've been reading tons of threads on bars & while I see many have gone to Heritage bars I'm thinking possibly 2" taller & back 3"-4" so I can actually lean back & ride more comfortably. I had an 08 Heritage & liked the bars but was still thinking if they were a couple of inches taller & came back a few they would have been perfect.
I guess my real question is gonna be, who has done what I'm thinking & what didn't work in regards to cables & or electrical? Can I get away with just bars or is it gonna open up a huge can of worms like going to 16" apes?

Thanks!
Clay

Check out the Sticky above on Wild one bars. I just put W1 508 bars on my 2011 RKC, I love them!!!! They are waayyyy more comfortable than stock. With the hwy pegs and backrest on my mustang low touring seat it is like a high power rolling LazyBoy!! You will need extensions for the electrical wiring. I used the 8" kit from NAMZ. I posted some pics in the thread mentioned above.

Heritage style bars. No cable or wire changes. I got them on my King and they fixed the back problem

Heritage bars for me also. Stock bars were horrendous. For the cost, the heritage bars can't be beat.

I also went with Heritage bars - they did the trick for me.

Don't listen to the dealers about the freeking bars. I went to the dealership bought a pair of Heritage style bars for $69. I am not mechanically inclined so I took the bars and the bike to the local bike shop. He installed them for $100, far from the $1k the dealer wants to change out the bars. I couldn' be happier

Is the pull back a full 3" as advertised? And by 'pull back' is that 3" straight back toward your chest?

thanks

ride safe
