I find this funny.... And here's why.

Not because his cable broke. That sucks. I'm sorry to hear that. But because if this had been a fly by wire bike, there would have been fifty people in here screaming about how fly by wire sucks and Harley needs to go back to a cable system because it's more reliable. Instead, "It's an easy fix. Go ahead and replace it yourself."

Just goes to show you that the cables really aren't any more, or less, reliable than the fly by wire system.

you don't need to make a special trip to cvs....harley sells a special lube just for that purpose its called "high pressure head grease"

Sanford HD says about 140 out the door and theyre gonna pick it up for me. not bad i guess

gotta say im not upset at a part failure at this mileage. just glad i was close to home

outta curiousity wat would i have done if out in the boonies? how hard to pull the grip and manipulate the cable with vise grips or something??

Yeah. I had a clutch cable break on a Yammie Seca 750 that I owned once. It sucked having to drive it about 20 miles with no clutch....hehehe

Like a couple of people mentioned, move the throttle return cable over and turn it into an auxiliary throttle cable. That would do ya until you got home.
