Unhappy '12 103 test ride

Needed new meat on the back wheel, so I arranged a 15 mile demo ride on a '12 RGU.
All I can say is... I was absolutly unimpressed with the performance (rather lack there of) of the epa chocked 103. I mean, REALLY dissappointing.

The bike acted as if it was castrated!!!!! No "grunt" whatsoever.

Looking to upgrade, and the RGU is gonna be my choice.

Pipes - a/c and TTS with a good tune will wake this turd up surly....won't it?

I personally couldn't stand to ride the bike if no more performance was obtainable.

Geez.......who really needs that wind cutting shark nose if the motor won't even push it through the wind?

Just a humble observation.

The 103 RG can be improved on get rid of the cat (New pipes - free up the breathing - better air cleaner and add a tuner...)
I Demoed the RG 110 CVO - This Harley will move.
One thing - I burnt my leg on the air cleaner.

What you said and a set of 255's will let that RGU run much better.

Fortunately it's no secret as to what needs to be done. AC/Pipes/Tuner and 90% is done.

( Then you can start to make it fast...)

I never did test ride a new bike......guess it's a good thing. I wasn't expecting blazing power/speed from the custom w/a 107" S&S, and of course a 400lb weight difference, but not a slug either. I did the conversion, all but cam, before adding a mile to the clock, I'm not at all disappointed. I was looking for a Hot Rod Cruiser and I found that in the 2011 Street Glide. I'm not setting land speed recorders yet when I jump on the freeway I can hit 75mph pretty quick. Hope you find what you're looking for.

I did pipes , TTS Mater Tune , air cleaner and Cycle Rama CR-575 Cams and my bike runs , 97hp 107 torque , I'm at 100 torque at 2500 rpm's , love it

I have a 2011 with the 103, Stage 1 pipes , a/c and PC V (changing to a Power Vision this weekend) and by seat of pants myits faster and more usable power than my previous 05 fatboy with a stage 2 95 , cams,pipes, tuner,a/c

Glad some of you are posting that it'll "wake up."

I mean...it was just plain sluggish.

My little 96" will absolutly run off and hide from that bike. Whichever way ya wanna do it ; stand still, roll on, top end. Yea, I said top end cuz I'd be two states away before that 103 groaned its way to it's max in 6th.

Thanks for the report guys. Looks like when I bring her home, it'll be with a/c, pipes, tuner, and cams from the very git-go.

I DO NOT bang my bike around hard, but when the throttle rolls, I gotta feel the "thump."

I bought a new RKC with the 103 this spring and felt the same way, when I did a test ride the salesman asked me what I thought about the 103 compared to my 96 and I didn't say much, rode it home and stuck on a pair of 4" Rineharts, a PCV from Jamie, Ness aircleaner and a set of V&H dresser duals and man she woke up big time. I have been riding it most of the summer but took my 07 Streetglide to Sturgis and what a difference, the 103 is a lot stronger.........by the butt dyno.
