Sounds like you made some good choices. This is probably overkill for you but wanted to show you an option that I did. I had several electronics I wanted to add so I used a fuze block. One Gerbings plug attaches to the communications port for the wife and mine attaches to the bag rail just sticking out under the seat. That way we are both on separate fuzes too. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...use-block.html

Interesting project, but I think a bit much for me! I would be pulling my hair out on something like that - I really hate electrical stuff
I live in Fla too got the jacket and gloves pretty cheap, I have run the mountains at the end of October with and without heated gear, better with. Tour master takes 10 mins to hook up no additional controllers or other equipment to purchase.
I've had Tourmaster Synergy jacket liner and gloves for three years. Indespensible in the winter. T-shirt, light jacket over and ride on. I like the Tourmaster because it comes with the thermostatic control with each piece and all wiring. It was a simple hookup to the battery and I run the wire out the left side of my seat and tuck it away in the spring and summer..Bought it from motorcyclesuperstoreDOTcom, great price, same day free shipping too.
Quick update. Up here at the Skyway area and using my heated jacket and thermal pants. All I can say is "wow"! This really works well. Wife is happy on her Heritage and it is working great on my EGC. Great call to those who recommended the thermostat - don't think it would be as good without it.
I appreciate all the responses - this is the information I have been looking to find. I have no friends in Florida with heated gear so it is difficult to get opinions.
Looks like the consensus is to get the jacket liner over the vest, so I will look into that. Regarding the temperature controller - is it really worth the extra money over just turning the unit off when it gets too warm?
Gerbings jacket liner is available in regular AND long sleeve. Harleys (made by Gerbings) is not. GET THE CONTROLLER! No bigger PITA than having to turn it on, off, on, off, on, off!!
