Yes I like the chrome and maybe even the black back plate. Probably chrome though. Seems like an easy enough DIY

They are easy to put on. I have one of each on two different bikes and the SE can be changed to the K&N and there are several other makers that make that same size as well such as Doughtry. The Ness one has a slightly different size filter so the replacements have top come from them. Probably not a big deal but food for thought. Performance wise there is no difference. The Ness one also has Allen head Banjo bolts that are exposed on top of them for the crankcase vent that you have to watch or they will rust inside the heads. Just a q-tip and a little PB Blaster once in a while will fix that.
