Just put new Supetrapp SE pipes on and love them.....next step is a new A/C...any real difference between the Big Sucker and the HD product? They look about the same to me
Only real difference I could tell is the Ness needs to be oiled like a K&N does?
If I remember the SE is a paper filter and the ness is a servicable cotton. Probably not a big performance difference between them. I just put the ness on mine, 30 bucks cheaper than harley, and i like that is is cleanable.
see your other post for some of my thoughts, in addition;
the ness is an oiled washable filter media which will last many years.
it is a much tidier install and MUCH less expensive
either unit will make available more air flow than your motor will use
mike
ps: I use S/E's on my evos ( 3) and a few more on friends bikes. For this latest bike, I think the cost for what you get reediculous, by the time you get an aftermarket K&N in there you are over $225

I've found the SE air cleaner hardware to be of higher quality than the Ness. Filter points above are true, but you can always swap out the filter itself for a K&N. Performance wise, they are about the same.
after i pulled off my screamin eagle air filter and
looked inside of the throttle body I decided that
was the last paper air filter that I would ever put
on my bike

Question is, now did the TB look after a roughly same amount of miles with your non-paper filter?
I have the Ness on my bike. Ended up going with it due to the fact that you could get chrome backplate as an option. The SE one you have to buy separately. I have heard (but cannot confirm) that the paper SE filters can deteriorate and get sucked into the engine. The Ness filter is similar to K&N and for me was the way to go. Not bashing SE though. And now they do sell a K&N filter from their P&A catalog. Probably can get it cheaper straight through K&N though.
