Getting ready to do the 5K service kit and will replace all the fluids, not just the engine oil. I have assembled the necessary parts including a couple of gasket service kits, part #17369-06. Inside the kit are 3 O rings. Are they the drain plug O rings, seem rather small but I haven't pulled the plugs yet to compare. If the O rings on the plugs are in good shape I plan to reuse them, but if in doubt, they will go.
Grease; what type is used in the neck bearings? The HD manual, at least in the parts I have looked, don't give the type required, just the HD part #. I doubt that it needs high pressure grease like used in wheel bearings and U-joints, or the water proof/resistant like used in boat trailer wheel bearings. I have a couple types in different grease guns and want to use a compatible type. I have seen a couple of posts where people have casually made claims about which type, but would like to hear from someone who "really" knows, not just making up an opinion. Reckon that stipulation should eliminate a lot of responses.
I had the dealer do the 1K service so I am hoping they didn't use "super torque" on the various plugs and covers.

Reason: spelling

I appreciate the number on the gasket kit. I am right where you are and plan on doing my 5k this week too. Sorry I can't answer your question but I was looking for the part # on the gasket kit. I am using Mobil 1 V-Twin 20/50 in the engine and changing to Redline V-Twin transmision this time. good luck.
Yes all 3 o-rings are very small, but 2 of them should be the same size, these are for the engine oil plug and the other for the trans. oil plug. There should also be a very small o-ring, that one is for the primary drain plug.
I bought the grease for my neck bearings at the dealership. I don't recall the name or part number, I just asked the parts guy for it. I think it said something like "multi purpose grease" or something like that (I'm not at home so I can't check it) and he ensured me it was the right stuff. Haven't had any issues so far
For the OP 2011 year bike the o rings for the three holes are the same. I do not know what year they changed the primary's o ring but my 08 has the same set up as the OP.
