Default Painted inner fairing

I bought an inner fairing and had it painted to match my bike. HD and the local indy says they charge 2 1/2 to 3 hrs labor to swap it out. I am thinking of doing it myself. I have a service manual for guidance. Is there any tips or things to watch out for?

Anyone with some advice on this ?

My advice would be...let them do it! If they are saying 2 1/2 to 3 hours, that's a very good deal! I've done a few of them, they each take me longer than that and it's kind of a pain.

Thanks. My local indy has a good rep for bike work. He says $120-150 depeding on how it goes. I just thought if it wasn't a bitch, I would have a few drinks and swap it. But, if it's a pain in the ***, I don't need that. Again, thanks for the heads up.

I did mine in the off season, it can be done and if you search the threads someone has a step by step with photos on here. it is a bit of work but I installed a hog tunes set up with amp at the same time. My advise during riding season is have em do it 120 bucks sounds pretty good, I was quoted around 300, good luck,,...o~' o

Have them do it. I did mine and my buddies this winter. Good experience but you arent going to do it one evening and a few beers. With the manuel you can do it. Good Luck!!

Thanks guys for the advice. I am a decent wrench, enough to know that some jobs are not worth the hassle. I really appreciate advice from those who have done it. I will let the indy do it and save myself some red ***.

Thanks again guys for the advice.

I helped a buddy do his Street Glide and had it done in 3 hrs. I did have the right tools and knowledge to do it. I owned a FLHTCU for 15 years and had removed the fairing several times
