Aux Port Wiring Question - Harmon Kardon Rear Jack Port

Aux Port Wiring Question - Harmon Kardon Rear Jack Port
Okay, I have the HK radio out, removed the top, front and went to wire in the aux port jack to the back side.
I purchased a female jack (from Radio Shack) that fits the Harley Road-Tech Zumo 550 twin male wire they supplied with the road-tech. When I split the wires open on the unit I purchased I found two wires and a open wire (looks like a ground?)
Can this be used and if so how?
There is supposed to be a -common, +left and +right.
I downloaded the instructions from CVO Harley and went at it.
But now I'm stumped a bit.
Anyone have any knowledge on this and what to do? I'd sure appreciate it.

What I plan to do is use the open wire as the ground.

Guess what? I cut the male end off, threw it in the trash. The wife took the trash to the dumpster. I don't know if the end is a mono or a stereo shown below... wow.
May have to start over - "Do Over"

Okay I remember now - I held both plugs together and they were both two band = stereo plugs. The one from Zumo and the one from Radio Shack.
So I'm good.

For those not able or willing to do this mod themselves, Iron Cross Audio will do it for $65 as a stand-alone mod or $40 extra with the standard ($250) repair option. It's nice to be able to plug in the Zumo or other MP3 player out of sight and out of the weather.
