Boy did I try.Had the normal problems rewiring the monkey bars push and pull.My son and I both for hours sprayed and lubed. When I got to the part with about 1 inch to go,couldnot get them the last bit of wire in,didnt want to push with stick or screwdriver because i was worried about shorts.cut off ends and they are in a box for future bike. The monkey bars are bad,and I love them,They keep your hands in the breeze all the time. When cold weather comes I'll miss heated grips.I bought heated gloves but running the wires through the jacket will be an issue.especially on short rides. On long trips I will do it.Will certainly miss the heated grips .A millwright buddy of mine recommended wire lube from a electrical supply house.Says it will work better then WD etc.good luck in finding someone that has succeeded in heated grips
I have done a couple of sets and neither had heated grips. I know it will be a SOB to do. There just is not much room on the right side. If you use the lube that was suggested above, it will make things easier.
Sounds like most of you are talking about the wiring fitting. The problem we had with my 08 SG was the fact that the diameter of the bar is to small to accept the throttle by wire AND the heating element. The diameter I am told needs to be .875, my bars measured .8 and I was not willing to alter my bars. we never got to the part of the wiring but we did have to pull the wiring twice due to tearing 1 wire apart the first time.

The bar internal diameter is what I'm concerned with. If the Heat Demons won't fit I may opt for a different grip heater.
If anyone else is contemplating PYO Bagger Bars w/ Heat Demon grip heaters, The TBW module and the Heat Demons heater coil will NOT fit in the right bar end because the internal bar diameter isn't large enough. I'll hone them out tomorrow night & gett'er put back together ASAP.
I recently had bagger bars put on(LOVE EM) BUT the dealer could not get the Harley heated grips to work either. I rode yesterday and it was chilly and I missed my heated grips tremendously!!!
