Was running the Hertz speakers by themselves....just finished installing the amp...definitely sounds fuller...not sure if it made it any louder. But definitely clearer and fuller.
What Mixter is running is a good combo, IMO, and I second his recommendation. I have the same 6˝" Biketronics-Hertz speakers with an identical Elf E2125X 2-channel amp and the sound quality is leaps and bounds above stock. I moved gradually from Hogtunes speakers, later adding their amp and Tweeter Pods, and recently moved to the present setup after the HT amp died. I retained the Tweeter Pods in the mix and I'm very happy at this point, especially for the money spent.
The best way I can describe the effect besides the obviously better bass response is that the sound feels like it reaches out and hits you right in the chest. With the stock or even Hogtunes systems the sound was out there somewhere, seemingly at a distance. You could hear it, but it didn't have much authority.
I went by the Arc instruction and set it between the A and the I in Gain. I think I did it right!!! To be honest I'm not really sure what the gain does! But it looked like the little notch on the dial was supposed to be between the A and the I in their instructions....can you recommend a better setting?

The gain is the volume adjustment going from the head unit to the amp. There is a formula for adjusting it using a VOM set to AC volts, which I did initially, but after adding my speakers and reading up on it more I did the last adjustment by ear. If you look at the amp normally my gain is set to about 2 o'clock, which is about 40% of its range, and that works well with the 2Ω output that I have (3Ω Hertz in parallel with the 6Ω Tweeter Pods). With the head unit at half volume I would put the gain where volume is about right at your normal cruising speed. Raising the gain increases volume just like turning it up at the handlebars, but it also increases the rate of volume increase. Basically, adjust it to your ear, but with a 2Ω or 3Ω output setting it at 2 o'clock is about right for me.
