+1 on Danner's, I wear the Recons that are waterproof and breathable. Can't pay too much for good foot protection.

Keeping the rubber side down.

Hathorn model 110V lace up logger type boots. They call them "smoke jumpers". Made in Spokane WA and very comfortable...

White's smoke jumpers. The best boots you can get. 100% rebuildable. They give Danners and Redwings a run for their money. Got a weird foot they can be custom made for no extra cost. #1 boot chosen by firefighters, loggers, and lineman worldwide. My last pair lasted 7 years with 2 rebuilds.

Love my Danners - Acadias in the warm, Ft Lewis when it gets cooler.
Great build quality, comfortable, waterproof, and made in the USA if that's a concern for you.
FWIW, quite a few of their boots are made offshore now. I can't speak to the quality of the non-US models, never tried a pair.

Good quality cowboy boots with rubber soles. Have a pair of dead man's boots left to me by my father's friend who died in the 70's. Numerous heels and soles later they are still in the breeze.
